Congratulations to Enterprising Women of the Year 2015 award winner, Carol Hackbarth, Chairwoman of the Board for Hackbarth Delivery Service in Mobile, Alabama.
She
began her privately held, certified woman-owned company in 1975 with her husband, Rob. They started with a single van, $500 startup capital and a belief in each other. Today, her company boasts 26 terminal warehouses across 10 states and delivers more than 38,000 packages a day. She plays an active role in leading and directing her company and enjoys working with her family.Carol believes in giving back to her community and has been active throughout the years with many various charities and business development organizations. In the past she has coached both of her daughters sports teams, served on the Board of Directors for the Mobile Chamber of Commerce, and has mentored at-risk youth in business development. Her love for community is best shown through her 25-year relationship with L’Arche, a residential home where handicapped and non-handicapped live and work together.

Mrs.Hackbarth leads by example and believes every job within her company is vital to the overall success. After Hurricane Katrina, she lived in the New Orleans operation, along with 20 driver teams, to help rebuild the city by providing household appliance and critical-care medical deliveries. She has helped to foster the caring attitude that is integral to the culture of the company. Carol attributes her success to hard work and commitment to providing KYSO® (knock your socks off) customer service.

Hackbarth Delivery Service is truly a family owned and operated company with her eldest daughter, Kelly Picard, recently being promoted to Chief Executive Officer while Kim Sweet, her youngest daughter, is Public Relations and Marketing Director. She enjoys spending time on the water with her family of seven wonderful grandchildren. She also enjoys traveling and has been all around the world.
